The Wildlife Services program remains dedicated to the protection of American agriculture, the protection of human health and safety, and the resolution of other human wildlife conflicts. Wildlife damage management has become an inexorable component of modern wildlife and wildland conservation. Despite continuing reservations expressed by animal rights and environmental activists, the increasing need for sound, safe, efficient, and economical damage management is apparent everywhere.

The program is made available by federal, state and local funds. To be eligible for the funding, and to have trappers available free to us, the county must participate. The Feds and our State is participating.

According to the Texas Wildlife Services Program, as of 7/22/09, the number of entities cooperating with the Texas Wildlife Services Program on an annual basis is around 131.  Of these entities approximately 75 percent have some level of county participation.

Our County is not. We need them to.

Our mission is to ask Wood County officials to serve its citizens and the community through efficient use of its resources and effective management of governmental operations and funds.

There are links below with information on the fund and  a form below to add you farm or ranch to a petition to our commissioners to participate in the fund. Thanks.
